Hey, thanks for stopping by! We like to put faces to names here at Genus, so when you are dealing with us you know exactly who you are talking to. So we’ve put together an overview of each of our team and this week we talk to Clare about her experience here as our Logistics Administrator.
Working closely alongside Frankie, Clare joined the team in 2022 after a career in recruitment. The skills she gained there set her up well for life at Genus.
“Much of the work I did in recruitment was about getting paperwork right, making sure security checks and due diligence had been done on prospective candidates,” explains Clare. “I’d often be asked to find someone with a particular skill set, and that agile and curious mindset definitely helps me keep on top of things in this role.”
DAY TO DAY
Every day starts with the inbox, keeping emails up-to-date and responding to everything that has come in overnight is an essential part of the role. After that it’s time to sort through the ETAs for collections and deliveries, communicating with all our customers and ensuring all paperwork and documentation needed for that day’s collections are in place.
“There’s also plenty of housekeeping,” says Clare. “That can be anything from managing waste carrier licenses to export paperwork, there is always something to do!”
THE GENUS DIFFERENCE
We asked her what makes Genus a great place to work,
“Everyone says it, but Genus really is a lovely place to work,” says Clare. “I’m not part of the family in the same way as Frankie, but we definitely work together as a family. And that’s not just the Genus team here. Rick and the Directors have so much industry experience between them and they have built really good relationships within the industry over the years. It makes for a friendly working atmosphere.”
