Accounts Assistant

Karolina works on all things relating to invoicing and payments. She joined Genus in 2021, but her journey here wasn’t plain sailing.

“I decided to leave my previous role in management right before the pandemic hit,” explains Karolina. “As we all now know, this was a terrible time to decide I wanted to change career, and I spent the early part of lockdown looking for jobs.”

THE RIGHT OPPORTUNITY

“As soon as I spoke to the Genus team, I knew this was going to be a job that would work for me,” explains Karolina. “My family is especially important to me and the team here all understand the importance of balancing work commitments and our commitments as parents or carers. It’s a supportive environment that means we all help each other to get things done.”

THE DAY TO DAY

Life at Genus is fast paced, in fact the only constant is the fact that things change day to day. From paper pricing and haulage prices to paperwork requirements, working somewhere that manages the entire process, from end-to-end, is something Karolina enjoys being a part of.

“Making sure the right people are paid the right amount is obviously an essential part of my role,” says Karolina, “but sometimes things can change suddenly and that can mean I have to do a bit of investigation and untangle what happened and when. It can be a challenge, but it’s one I enjoy!”

THE GENUS DIFFERENCE

“We’re not a faceless business,” says Karolina. “Our customers know the team; we know our customers and we work hard to ensure the best possible outcome for the companies we work with.”

“The important thing for me though is the feeling of being part of a family business. It makes it special; we all know we can depend on each other.”
