Introducing Frankie Chadwick, our Logistics Manager. Frankie is an absolute powerhouse! She heads up all things logistics here at Genus Recycling and keeps everything running smoothly.
TIME FOR CHANGE
After many years working in childcare, moving up the ranks from nursery nurse to senior management roles, Frankie decided it was time for a change.
That change was joining Genus in 2020.
“Genus is in the family,” explains Frankie. “Rick is my stepdad and if you hadn’t guessed already, Billie is my sister.”
“Not all families get along, but in our case, the family connection is a definite advantage. We all know how each other think. Sometimes Rick can start a sentence and I’ll immediately know what he’s going to say.”
THE DAY TO DAY
The logistics of paper recycling require a very organised mind that can juggle a multitude of tasks. Whether that is booking paper loads onto wagons, dealing with customs paperwork, making sure collections happen on time or negotiating haulage rates, no two days are the same for Frankie.
“It’s fast-paced,” she says. “I’m constantly learning because every day throws up a new challenge. But that’s what I enjoy, and I know that the team here all support each other.”
“It’s really nice to be involved in something from the start, seeing Genus grow year on year makes me really proud of what we’re achieving.”
THE FUTURE for Frankie Chadwick
“Knowing that Genus is making a difference to the planet matters to me,” says Frankie. “Obviously we all know that we should be recycling, but for larger organisations that can feel like a huge challenge.”
“That’s where Genus come in, we’ve got so much industry experience between us that we can help customers reach their environmental goals, while also benefitting other businesses in the supply chain.”
THE GENUS DIFFERENCE
“We are smaller than some of our competitors, and that’s a good thing!” reflects Frankie. “It means our customers know us and trust us, and we know and trust them.”
“We don’t work in silos either, so if a customer rings with an urgent enquiry, we can all help. It doesn’t matter if someone is out of office or away for their lunch break, there’s almost always someone around who will know the account. Those relationships mean that Rick will move mountains to help a supplier or a customer.”
